BRAKE SERVICE & REPAIRS

ur brakes are the most important part of your vehicle. You want to make sure you can stop quickly when it’s critical. Faulty brakes can put you and your passengers at risk. At Sebs Automotive Repairs, we supply and fit brake pads and shoes for all European, Japanese and Local vehicle makes and models. All brake pads and shoes carry a manufacturer’s guarantee and are expertly fitted by our trained brake mechanics.

WHEN YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR BRAKES CHECKED

It is recommended you have your brakes checked on a regular basis, at least once a year. However, immediately book an appointment at Drive In, in the following cases:

  • When you begin to hear a squealing noise when braking.
  • When you have done a visual check and the lining is only around 3 mm thick
  • If the steering wheel vibrates when you brake
  • If the brake pedal reacts differently (harder or softer),
  • If the brakes don’t respond immediately
  • If the brakes and/or ABS signals are lit on your dashboard

ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS)

Anti-lock Braking Systems are a feature of many modern and high performance cars but like any other part of a vehicle, they can sometimes fail. So whether you have a BMW, Volvo, Audi, Mercedes, VW, or any other make or model of car with ABS, if it’s not performing as it should, let one of our experienced brake mechanics take a look.

If your ABS warning light is illuminated, it does not necessarily mean that your vehicle will come to a halt. What it does mean, however, is that if you are forced to make an emergency stop, you will not be able to steer to avoid a collision. This is a particular problem if the road surface is slippery.
